GLP ALFALINK Sagamihara is one of Japan‘s largest advancedlogistics campuses completed for asset management services companyGLP. Architecture practice Takenaka Corporation and Japanese logoexpert Kashiwa Sato joined forces to bring this 670,000 sqm parkcomplex to life — developing four buildings with office spaces,training and R&D facilities, factory lines, and cold storagesolutions to encourage supply chain efficiency. The facility alsoaccommodates an in-house truck terminal shared by customers tofacilitate the efficient shipment and collection of cargo, as wellas a shared circular building dubbed RING. According to GLP, thiscampus evolves beyond traditional warehouse designs, offering a newgeneration of open-hub facilities where customers are invited toco-create and collaborate, ‘and employees and residents are able toco-exist harmoniously,’ adds the company’s president YoshiyukiChosa.
