Industrial synthesis of polycarbonate is mainly interfacephosgenation route. Bisphenol A is used as raw material, phosgene,sodium hydroxide and dichloromethane are used as raw materials andreaction AIDS. The process is mature, the product quality is high,and it is easy to scale and continuous production with goodeconomy. Therefore, this process has long occupied a leadingposition in the production of polycarbonate. However, because theraw material phosgene used in this process is highly toxic, manycompanies have studied non phosgene production routes in recentyears. In 1993, the non phosgene process was successfully studiedand industrialized by GE Plastics Japan
