PPS provided by resin manufacturer is a kind of white powderwith relatively low (4000 ~ 5000) and high crystallinity(75%). This pure PPS can not be directly plasticized and can onlybe used for spraying. PPS used for plasticization must becrosslinked to increase the viscosity of the melt. Generally, themelt index of crosslinked PPS is 10 ~ 20, and the melt index ofGlass Fiber Reinforced PPS can be larger, but not more than200.
There are two crosslinking methods of PPS, thermal crosslinkingand chemical crosslinking. The crosslinking temperature of thermalcrosslinking is 150 ~ 350 ℃, no crosslinking occurs below 150 ℃,and high crosslinking occurs above 350 ℃, which leads to processingdifficulties.
Chemical crosslinking needs to add crosslinking accelerants,such as zinc oxide, lead oxide, magnesium oxide, cobalt oxide,phenolic compounds, Hexamethoxymethyl cyanamide, hydrogen peroxide,hypochlorite of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal, etc.
PPS is crosslinked, but the fluidity of PPS does not decreasemuch; therefore, the waste can be reused for three times; PPSitself has demoulding property, so it is unnecessary to adddemoulding agent; PPS after heat treatment can improve thecrystallinity and hot deformation temperature, and thepost-treatment conditions are: temperature 204 ℃, time 30min.

环氧树脂生产商出示的PPS为一种相对质量较为低(4000~5000)、晶粒大小较高(75%)的白色粉末,这类纯PPS没法立即熔融成形,只有用以喷漆。用以熔融成形的PPS,务必开展化学交联改性材料解决,使溶体的黏度升高。一般化学交联后的熔指做到10~20为宜;开展玻纤提高PPS的熔指可大一些,但不可以超过200。
PPS的化学交联方式有热化学交联和热聚合二种,以热化学交联为主导。热化学交联的化学交联溫度为150~350℃,小于150℃不产生化学交联,高过350℃产生高宽比化学交联,反倒造成生产加工艰难。
热聚合必须添加化学交联硫化促进剂,实际的种类有活性氧化锌、一氧化铅、氧化镁、氧化钴等及其酚类,六叔丁基羟基三聚氰氟苯、双氧水、碱土金属或碱金属的次氯酸盐等。
PPS虽然有化学交联,但流通性降低很少;因而,废弃物可多次重复使用三次;PPS自身具备出模性,可无须添加脱膜剂;PPS历经热处理工艺可提升晶粒大小及热变形温度,后处理工艺的标准为:溫度204℃,時间30min。
