General properties:polyformaldehyde is a kind of hard and dense material with smoothsurface, luster, light yellow or white, and thin wall part is half.Characteristic is easy, continue after leaving fire, flame upperend presents, lower end presents blue, occurrence melting drips,have strong sex formaldehyde taste, fish fishy odor.Polyformaldehyde is a white powder, generally not, good coloring,specific gravity 1.41-1.43 g/cm3, molding shrinkage 1.2-3.0%,molding temperature 170-200℃, drying conditions 80-90℃ for 2 hours.The long-term heat resistance of POM is not high, but theshort-term heat resistance can reach 160℃. Among them, theshort-term heat resistance of homogenous POM is more than 10℃higher than that of copolymerized POM, but the long-term heatresistance copolymerized POM is about 10℃ higher than that ofhomomermerized POM. It can be used in the range of -40℃ ~ 100℃ fora long time. The POM decomposes easily at a temperature of 240degrees. Decomposition occurs with sexual and corrosive gases.Therefore, the mold steel should be made of corrosion-resistantmaterials.2. Mechanical properties :POM has high strength andstiffness, good elasticity and good wear resistance. Its excellentmechanical properties, specific strength up to 50.4CPa, specificstiffness up to 2650MPa, very close to the metal. The mechanicalproperties of POM changed little with temperature, and the changeof copolymerized POM was a little larger than that of homogeneousPOM. The impact strength of POM was higher, but the conventionalimpact was lower than ABS and PC. POM against the notch, the notchcan reduce the impact strength by as much as 90%. The fatiguestrength of POM is very prominent. After 10 alternating loads, thefatigue strength can reach 35MPa, while that of PA and PC is only28MPa.
