Homopolymers have excellent tensilestrength and fatigue resistance, but they are not easy tomanufacture. Prepolymer raw materials have excellent heatresistance, organic chemical reliability and easy production andprocessing. No matter homopolymer raw material or prepolymer rawmaterial, all crystal raw material and not easy to digest andabsorb water. The high crystal level of POM results in a very highshrinkage rate of 2% ~ 3.5% .
For avariety of different reinforced raw materials have differentshrinkage. The formation of homopolymer chips usually takes placein the presence of acid in the solution of indoor formaldehyde. Thepet chips with polymerization degree of 100 or so were obtained andthen heated to convert into formaldehyde vapor in the room. Afterbeing specially made and dedried, some prepolymers were used topurify the reactivity ratio, the polymer is then developed in a dryorganic solvent containing a small amount of initiator. Due to thepresence of water, the content is significantly reduced. Theinitiator can be Lewis acid or base, etc. . The results showed thatthe end group of pet chip was a semi-acetal (as-ch2oh) . When thetemperature was higher than 100 °C, the end group was easy tobreak, and the end group had to be stabilized by end groupsolution. After stabilization, it can bear high temperature to 230°C. Polyoxymethylene can be produced and processed at temperaturesranging from 170 °C to 200 °C, such as injection, extrusion andinjection molding. The key is used for rubber products, cars,mechanical parts and so on.
