PPSU树脂主要用于电子电气、食品用具、奶制品加工设备和一些日用品、汽车、航空、医疗和一般工业部门。
PPSU主要品种有双酚A聚砜、聚芳砜、和聚醚砜等。常以双酚A型聚砜为代表。为略带琥珀色的线型聚合物。除强极性溶剂、浓硝酸和硫酸外，对一般酸、碱、盐、醇、脂肪烃等稳定。可溶于二氯甲烷、二氯乙烯和芳烃。
he polyphenylene sulfone resins (CAS Reg. No. 31833-61-1)identified in paragraph (a) of this section may be safely used asarticles or components of articles intended for repeated use incontact with food, subject to the provisions of this section.
(a) Identity. For the purpose of this section, polyphenylenesulfone resins consist of basic resin produced by reactingpolyphenylene sulfide with peracetic acid such that the finishedresins meet the specifications set forth in paragraph (c) of thissection. The polyphenylene sulfide used to manufacturepolyphenylene sulfone is prepared by the reaction of sodium sulfideand p -dichlorobenzene, and has a minimum weight average molecularweight of 5,000 Daltons.
(b) Optional adjuvant substances. The basic polyphenylenesulfone resins identified in paragraph (a) of this section maycontain optional adjuvant substances required in the production ofsuch basic resins. These optional adjuvant substances may includesubstances permitted for such use by regulations in parts 170through 189 of this chapter, substances generally recognized assafe in food, or substances used in accordance with a priorsanction or approval.
(c) Specifications. The glass transition temperature of thepolymer is 360±5 °C as determined by the use of differentialscanning calorimetry.
