It has high hardness and heat resistance, higher yield strengththan PA6 and PA66, lower friction coefficient, good stress crackingresistance, especially creep resistance. It is one of the strongvarieties of thermoplastic, with water absorption of 7% and workingtemperature of 100-1200c.

It is suitable for use under medium load conditions, and can beused to make bottles and tubes containing chemicals. Other uses aresimilar to PA6. PA66 has high fatigue strength and steelresistance, good heat resistance, low friction coefficient and goodwear resistance, but it has high hygroscopicity and insufficientdimensional stability.

In order to improve the mechanical properties of PA66, variousmodifiers are often added. Glass is a common additive, sometimes inorder to improve the impact resistance, synthetic rubber, such asEPDM and SBR, is added. PA66 has low viscosity, so it has goodfluidity

(but not as good as PA6). This property can be used to processvery thin components. Its viscosity is sensitive to temperaturechanges. The shrinkage of PA66 is in the range of 1% ~ 2%, whichcan be reduced to 0.2% ~ 1% by adding glass fiber additive.
