Polyethylene terephthalate (PBT) is a raw material supplier ofHuayun plastic materials Co., Ltd. It is used in the electrical andelectronic industry of thermoplastic engineering polymerinsulators. It is a thermoplastic (semi) crystalline polymer, and atype of polyester. PBT is solvent resistant, with very smallshrinkage during forming, it has high mechanical strength, highheat resistance up to 150 ℃ (or glass fiber reinforced at 200 ℃),and can be treated with flame retardant to make it noncombustible.
Poly (terephthalic acid) is used in electrical engineeringenclosures, but also in the manufacture of automotive plugconnectors. At the same time, it can also be processed into somemechanical keyboards used in toothbrush fibers and keycaps, becauseit is abrasion resistant. PBT can also be made into yarn, which canbe incorporated into sportswear
The application of PBT although PBT has excellent comprehensiveperformance, but when used alone, it also has some disadvantages,such as low thermal deformation temperature, easy to burn, notoutstanding mechanical properties, especially low notched impact ofproducts. Therefore, PBT is rarely used alone, and most of them canonly be applied after modification. The common modification methodsof PBT are as follows: 1. Physical modification; 2. Flame retardantmodification; 3. Blending modification; 4. Chemical modification 5.Liquid crystal modification
