It has aglass transition temperature of 419f and allows intermittent use at392f, resulting in short-term excursion at higher temperatures.

Notes for barrel selection and screw design:
2. When processing Pei resin, traditional manufacturingmaterials suitable for screw and barrel can be used. Bimetal barrelis recommended. According to the screw diameter, it is better tomake the length diameter ratio 20:1 and compression ratio2.2:1.
In addition, it is also recommended to use a short feed zone (5segments) and a long compression zone (11 segments), whilegradually transiting to a shorter metering zone (4 segments)through a constant taper. Compression should be accomplished at agradual transition of constant taper, as sharp changes may resultin excessive shear forces and material degradation. If it is notpossible to select a specific screw, the use of universal screwwith aspect ratio of 16:1 to 24:1 and compression ratio of 1.5:1 to3.0:1 has been proved to be successful. It is not recommended touse the barrel with vent to process Pei * resin. The check valveshall be in the sliding rod metering area, and the flow clearanceshall normally account for at least 80% of the cross section of theflow area
Pei is amorphous, with excellent high temperature resistance,high strength, high modulus, wide chemical resistance, naturalflame resistance, low flue gas emission, high dielectric constantand loss factor.
