Its most outstanding features are its chemicalresistance and processing capabilities. Exposure to aromatic oilsoften causes crazing or actual fracture of many polymer resins, butBR003 maintains its physical properties when exposed to these oils,and its appearance is virtually unchanged. BR003 is specificallyformulated to provide the optimal combination of chemicalresistance, bristle retention, strength, stiffness, processability,clarity, colorability, and feel for toothbrushes. Under existingUnited States Food and Drug Administration(FDA) regulations,Eastar™ BR003 copolyester may lawfully be used to make food contactarticles which comply with the specifications and conditions of usein 21 CFR 177.1240. Migration tests on BR003 samples meet thecompliance re of 21 CFR 177.1240(e)(1),(2) and (3).

PET树脂是由二元醇（乙二醇，EG）与二元酸（对苯二甲酸，TPA）缩聚而成线型均聚聚酯，而共聚聚酯是用醇或酸改性的聚酯，有PETG、PCTG和PCTA以及可降解的共聚聚酯。
PETG是一种非结晶性共聚酯。在其生产过程中，由于一定数量的乙二醇被 -cyclohexanedimethanol(CHDM)所取代，可预防结晶化，进而改善加工制造和透明度。其制品高度透明，抗冲击性能优异，特别适宜成型厚壁透明制品，其加工成型性能ji佳，能够按照设计者的意图进行任意形状的设计，可能采用传统的挤出、注塑、吹塑及吸塑等成型方法，可以广泛用于板材、片材、高性能收缩膜、瓶用及异型材等市场，同时其二次加工性能优良，可以进行常规机加工修饰。
